Excellence in Training for Complex Domains
The Partnership between GMSPAZIO and Ansys Tools
Advanced Modeling & Simulation programs for Space, Air, Underwater, and Missile Defense. We transfer technical expertise to make your team operational and autonomous.

Ansys STK and Ansys ODTK Courses
GMSPAZIO designs and delivers courses for the use of Ansys Systems Tool Kit (STK) and Ansys Orbit Determination Tool Kit (ODTK), with programs tailored to the participants’ preparation and domain of interest.
The paths combine theoretical lessons, practical exercises, and on-the-job training. Participants learn to build scenarios, configure assets, sensors, radars, and communication systems, use propagators and advanced modules, generate reports, and interpret results to support design and operational analysis activities. Space-dedicated modules may include orbital mechanics, Astrogator, orbital transfers, maneuvers, orbit determination, and uncertainty analysis.
GMSPAZIO has already delivered customized courses on these tools for Leonardo (Space Division) and for the NATO Modelling and Simulation Centre of Excellence, developing agendas built on specific client requirements.
COMSPOC Software Courses
GMSPAZIO delivers courses dedicated to COMSPOC software for Space Situational Awareness and Space Domain Awareness, including SEG, SOTA, SSA Suite, and ODSSA.
The training paths guide analysts and operators through the main workflows for space surveillance: catalog management and updates, orbit determination and propagation, covariance analysis, maneuver detection and characterization, conjunction assessment, reentry analysis, and space situational representation.
Courses can also include the generation of scenarios and simulated events for training, asset vulnerability assessment, and the analysis of cooperative and non-cooperative objects. Practical activities are designed to make operators autonomous in configuring workflows, interpreting outputs, and utilizing the information produced during daily activities.

Space Battle Management Course
Space Battle Management is a specialized course dedicated to the surveillance and monitoring of cooperative and non-cooperative space assets in civil and military contexts. The path integrates orbital mechanics, orbit determination and propagation, sensor modeling, catalog management, and the construction of the Recognized Space Picture.
Participants learn to model constellations and space services, evaluate access and coverage, configure SSA sensor tasking, analyze covariance and conjunction matrices, represent complex scenarios, and estimate the operational impact produced by variations in the efficiency status of satellites, sensors, and ground centers.
The goal is to provide a methodology for transforming data, models, and simulations into a Common Operational Picture useful for tactical and strategic decision-making. GMSPAZIO has already conducted two editions of the course at the Scuola di Aerocooperazione in Guidonia.
Orbital Warfare Course
Orbital Warfare is a path dedicated to the analysis of space asset dynamics and maneuvers. The course delves into the concepts of orbital mechanics and Space Battle Management, focusing on the detection of orbital changes and the evaluation of possible maneuvers based on the scenario and the orbital regime of the objects involved.
The program may include orbital propagation and perturbations, transfers with Astrogator, orbit insertion, rendezvous and proximity operations, station keeping, maneuver detection, close approach, collision avoidance, covariance matrices, and orbit determination with ODTK.
Theoretical lessons are supported by practical scenarios in STK, Astrogator, and ODTK. Participants learn to recognize variations in orbital parameters, interpret object behavior, and evaluate evasive, corrective, maintenance, or response maneuvers.

Electromagnetic Warfare and EMSO Course
The Electromagnetic Warfare course is dedicated to the modeling and simulation of operational scenarios in the electromagnetic domain and to Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO).
Participants learn to represent radars, sensors, antennas, transmitters, and receivers, to calculate access, coverage, and link budgets, and to evaluate the effects of environmental conditions and noise on system performance. The path also addresses the modeling of interference, jamming, and spoofing, and the analysis of their impact on the operation of communication and surveillance equipment.
Through scenarios with high tactical and strategic content, the course allows for the comparison of alternative configurations, the identification of vulnerabilities, and the evaluation of possible mitigation measures. The program may include modules on STK Communications and Radar and an introduction to scenario configuration, visualization, and data interoperability.
GMSPAZIO Product Training
Every GMSPAZIO product can be accompanied by a dedicated training path, designed to make the client autonomous in using the solution and interpreting the results.
Training is built around the organization’s roles, processes, and operational scenarios. Activities may include an introduction to product architecture, workflow configuration, input preparation, scenario construction, analysis execution, report and visualization reading, and the recognition of anomalies or critical conditions.
GMSPAZIO can also provide periods of shadowing and on-the-job training, during which operators work on use cases representative of real activities and acquire the experience necessary to conduct operational sessions, analyze outputs, and use the information produced to support decisions.

SSA/SST and Modeling & Simulation Seminars
GMSPAZIO conducts seminars and specialized modules dedicated to Space Situational Awareness, Space Surveillance and Tracking, and modeling and simulation applied to the space domain.
The sessions may introduce the main concepts of orbital mechanics, orbit determination, sensor technology, space object cataloging, conjunction analysis, and space situational representation, or provide an overview of the Ansys tools used to design and analyze complex missions and systems.
Seminars are aimed at universities, master’s programs, institutions, and technical organizations, and can be configured as introductory lessons, application workshops, or modules integrated into broader training paths. For years, GMSPAZIO has collaborated with the Masterspazio at the University of Rome Tor Vergata to present Ansys tools and modeling and simulation concepts applied to Space to participants.
Customized Tailor-Made Courses
GMSPAZIO designs personalized training paths in the Defense, SSA/SST, Space Domain Awareness, Digital Mission Engineering, orbital operations, and electromagnetic warfare sectors.
Each course is defined based on the client’s requirements, the participants’ profile, the available tools, and the operational capabilities to be developed. Duration, depth of study, theoretical content, exercises, scenarios, datasets, and assessment methods can be adapted to the organization’s needs.
Programs can integrate multiple tools and domains, combine classroom lessons, laboratories, and on-the-job training, and use use cases consistent with the client’s real processes. The goal is to transfer not only software knowledge but the ability to correctly configure workflows, interpret results, and use them consciously in operational and decision-making activities.

Evaluation and Certificates
Certified Skills for Mission Success
Every course combines theory, practical exercises, and verification of acquired skills, with the issuance of a certificate of attendance upon completion of the path. The training falls within the scope of the company’s ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 27001:2017 quality certifications, guaranteeing a structured, verifiable, and constantly updated method.
