Constellation Builder
Design the best constellation to bring into orbit
Orbit Wizard is the GMSPAZIO tool for designing, analyzing, and optimizing satellite constellations based on real operational requirements.
Coverage, revisit time, ground track, number of satellites, inclination, orbital geometry, and mission constraints become parameters to be quickly compared, measured, and optimized.
The goal is to help technical teams, operators, and space companies understand which configuration works best before investing time, resources, and budget in mission development.
System Introduction
From mission requirements to the optimal constellation
Designing a constellation does not just mean choosing how many platforms to launch.
It means understanding which orbital architecture guarantees the required coverage, with what revisit times, over which areas, with what number of satellites, and with what impact on overall costs.
Orbit Wizard supports the development phase of a constellation through algorithms designed to search for orbital parameters consistent with specific operational constraints, such as coverage of areas of interest or user-defined ground stations.
The result is a fast, intuitive, and decision-oriented design tool, designed to transform complex requirements into comparable configurations.
What It Solves
Fewer attempts, more design clarity
Orbit Wizard reduces the complexity of the initial constellation design phases. It allows for comparing configurations, evaluating trade-offs, optimizing orbital parameters, and verifying the impact of design choices on mission performance.
In this way, the team can understand sooner what works, what doesn’t, and which choices allow for achieving objectives with greater efficiency.

Design parameters
Configure the mission, explore alternatives
Every mission has different objectives. A constellation for Earth observation requires different logic than a constellation for communications, regional coverage, or global coverage.
Orbit Wizard allows working on concrete mission requirements and transforming them into design parameters: area to be covered, ground stations, minimum elevation, orbital geometry, revisit time, ground track, and degree of coverage.
The platform includes two main logics: Orbit Designer, dedicated to the analysis of reference orbits, and Constellation Designer, dedicated to constellation optimization starting from mission requirements.

Optimization
Finding the most effective configuration
Orbit Wizard helps move from a mission idea to a measurable orbital configuration. The tool supports the optimization of constellations for Remote Sensing and Coverage, helping to evaluate different solutions based on observation frequency, revisit time, regional or global coverage, and the average number of visible satellites.
It can also support formation flying scenarios, Walker Triplets analysis, and configurations dedicated to communications or multiple coverage.
The value is simple: test more solutions in less time, compare results, and choose the architecture most consistent with mission objectives.
Results
Faster and verifiable design decisions
Orbit Wizard provides useful information to understand if a constellation truly meets the initial requirements. The outputs allow for reading coverage, revisit times, orbital configurations, ground tracks, satellite visibility, and overall mission performance.
In the event of changes to the platform, geometry, or design constraints, Orbit Wizard allows for a quick assessment of the impact on the constellation and its performance.
The ability to design and analyze a constellation makes Orbit Wizard a useful tool for companies involved in satellite mission development, communication operators, Earth Observation entities, research centers, and mission analysis teams.
